Тhe Armenian Composing Art Festival was established by Sergey Smbatyan in 2010 and was fuelled by his calling to uphold the traditions of the Armenian classical composing school with the remembrance of the musical legacy of great Armenian composers.
The Khachaturian International Festival is one of the few widely celebrated classical music events in the region, with its recognition extending beyond the country.
The several years of the festival’s history have earned it a reputation of a celebrated and awaited annual music event, with the concerts featuring world-scale prominent artists, whose performances might otherwise be less affordable or available in famous music halls around the world to many music lovers.
The Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, supported by with the European Foundation for Support of Culture, launched the “Contemporary Classics” Composers’ Festival In November 2019. It became the first composers’ festival in Armenia to entirely feature living world legends of our times.
